Experience Required:

The incumbent must be able to perform all classes of transmission line construction, maintenance and operation work, with emphasis on safety, skill and efficiency. This is done in an energetic, friendly, team oriented, and professional atmosphere. The incumbent must have a distinct understanding of electricity, including erecting, assembling, and splicing conductors, cables and ropes, an understanding of tension stringing of conductors at a level acquired through four years of experience in distribution or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and/or construction of EHV transmission lines. Personnel in this classification must have completed a Lineman apprenticeship program or obtained a Journeyman Lineman rating. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to secure a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license in the state employed, within the first 90 days of employment. Radio and SCADA Technician, East River Electric Power Cooperative, Madison, South Dakota
East River Electric Power Cooperative, located in Madison, South Dakota, is accepting applications for a Radio and SCADA Technician.
The person selected for this position will provide assistance in the installation, maintenance, operation, testing, and troubleshooting of two-way radios, data acquisition and control systems, and associated electromechanical subsystems. Will also maintain computerized databases, and inspection and maintenance records. Experience in 800 MHz trunked radio systems and 930 MHz multiple address radio systems would be beneficial. Tower climbing to heights of 500 feet will be required.
The education and background minimum requirements are as follows:
Must possess a vocational-technical school degree in telecommunications or electronics, which included training in computer software applications. Experience (at least five years) in electronics maintenance will be considered in lieu of a degree. General Manager, Lincoln Electric Cooperative, Inc., Eureka, Montana
Lincoln Electric Cooperative (LEC), through its executive search consultant, seeks a strong leader to replace its retiring General Manager.
Based in Eureka, Montana, LEC is a rapidly growing member-owned electric distribution cooperative, located in northwest Montana. One of Montana’s best kept secrets, the area has breathtakingly beautiful scenery and is located within 90 minutes of five ski resorts, ten major golf courses, Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park. Year around recreational activities abound. Eureka is 6 miles south of the Canadian border, 45 minutes north of Whitefish and Kalispell, and within 1 hour of Glacier International Airport. LEC has enjoyed a 3% annual growth rate.
LEC serves 4,000 members in parts of Flathead and Lincoln counties, with 900 miles of line going from the Canadian border to Whitefish, Montana. Gross operating revenues exceeded $7.5 million in 2009, and LEC has over $27 million in total utility plant. The majority of its customers are residential, with the remainder small and large commercial.
LEC currently has a full requirements contract with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) for its wholesale power and is a member of the Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative (PNGC), which will manage its power supply beginning in October 2011.
LEC is very active in local economic development and in partnership with the local telephone cooperative, funds and controls the Eureka Rural Development Partners (ERDP). ERDP is the primary economic development in the service territory and has 1 full time employee. Experience in local economic development is a plus.
Applicants should possess a broad knowledge of electric distribution system management, including the areas of goal setting, long-range planning, and annual work plans in all key areas of operations, financial management, budgeting, wholesale power supply, staffing, human resources, information technology and member and public relations.
A strong commitment to serving the coop members and the local community and the ability to work with a 10 member consumer-elected board of trustees, and 20 full time employees, is mandatory.
Together the board and the general manager will develop the strategic business plans necessary to guide LEC in a rapidly changing and increasingly competitive business and wholesale power supply environment. This position requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills, a strategic thinker, commitment to teamwork, excellent communicator, positive attitude, and an impeccable work ethic. The desire to work on a team is essential. The successful candidate should also have experience interacting politically on the local, state, and federal levels, and be willing to have active involvement in related industry organizations.

Chief Financial Officer, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Bismarck, North Dakota
Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) invites applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The position reports to the CEO, oversees and manages BEPC’s finance and accounting functions, supporting and enhancing effective cost management practices, and representing BEPC and its subsidiaries in the financial community. BEPC’s core business is generating and transmitting wholesale bulk electric power to customers, primarily to its 135 member/owner rural electric systems serving 2.8 million electric consumers located in nine states. The cooperative owns 2,015 miles of high-voltage transmission with revenue in excess of 950 million. Expert communications skills, leadership in planning, strategic thinking, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating financial and accounting strategies is essential to success. Knowledge of tax and insurance strategies, and also financial accounting methods at a high level is required. Innovative financial strategies as well as demonstrated skill in serving as principle advisor on major financial transactions are crucial. Chief Financial Officer, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Bismark, North Dakota
Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) invites applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The position reports to the CEO, oversees and manages BEPC's finance and accounting functions, supporting and enhancing effective cost management practices, and representing BEPC and its subsidiaries in the financial community. BEPC has initiated the search due to a pending retirement and has engaged NRECA Executive Search to facilitate the search process.
BEPC's core business is generating and transmitting wholesale bulk electric power to customers, primarily to its 135 member/owner rural electric systems serving 2.8 million electric consumers located in nine states. The cooperative owns 2,015 miles of high-voltage transmission with revenue in excess of 950 million. BEPC has eight subsidiary organizations: Dakota Gas, Souris Valley Pipeline Ltd., Dakota Coal, Montana Limestone Co., Basin Telecommunications Inc., Basin Cooperative Services, PrairieWinds ND 1, Inc. and PrairieWinds 1 SD, Inc.
The candidate should have a proven track record of successful financial leadership, a firm understanding of the current financial environment, rating agencies and a minimum 10 years progressive strategic and supervisory experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Represent, promote and defend BEPC and its subsidiaries financial condition before the rating agencies, commercial bankers, investment bankers and its other lenders.
- Develop innovative financial strategies for the Cooperative and its subsidiaries to assure as low cost of capital as possible
- Development of tax, accounting and insurance strategies to maintain a strong financial position for BEPC
- Risk management evaluation and oversight
- Management of BEPC and subsidiaries' various insurance programs to protect BEPC and subsidiaries' assets, margins, and net income from losses
- Supervise investment portfolios and movement of all funds within BEPC and subsidiaries' bank accounts with emphasis on full and efficient utilization of cash
- Establish, maintain and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets of the cooperative
- Ensure the creditworthiness of the coop is maintained to ensure financing of future projects
- Evaluation of future investments that will be beneficial to BEPC
- Maintaining key organizational relationships within BEPC and the divisions within the department of Financial Services
- Supervision of personnel and resources to produce reliable financial statements and accounting information
Expert communications skills, leadership in planning, strategic thinking, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating financial and accounting strategies is essential to success. Knowledge of tax and insurance strategies, and also financial accounting methods at a high level is required. Innovative financial strategies as well as demonstrated skill in serving as principle advisor on major financial transactions are crucial. Completion of a four-year degree is imperative, advanced degrees preferred.
BEPC's corporate offices are located in Bismarck, ND, the capital city of North Dakota. Located on the East bank of the Missouri river, Bismarck is a thriving northern high plains city representing the spirit, culture and work ethic expected of the position. An educational center home for one university and several colleges. Outdoor recreation abounds as well as theater, sports and other cultural events.

Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services (FMCS) seeks a full-time experienced electric utility professional with previous supervisory experience. Immediate opening. Report to President & CEO.
Person will be responsible for several utility areas including transmission, substations, distribution, construction maintenance, SCADA and other processes. Will also be responsible for our construction company subsidiary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant utility experience including five (5) years as a supervisor. Prefer college degree. Will consider high school graduate with thirteen (13) years experience including eight (8) years as a supervisor.
Engineering and operations management, supervisory skills, project management, computer literacy and decision-making track record necessary.

The Requirements
A Bachelors degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have two to four years’ industry-specific experience with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) and/or process manufacturing. A broad knowledge of product line and pricing. Proven ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals. Negotiation skills along with ability to sell and be persuasive. A broad knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing. A professional appearance and demeanor and an acceptable driving record. This position will require onsite customer visits.

SUMMARY: The program resides at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A key contributor to the success of electric cooperatives for over 30 years has been the industry-oriented management and professional programs provided by NRECA, that have assisted member-owned electric cooperatives in keeping pace with progressive and effective management knowledge and skills.
To achieve this mission, NRECA established a university-based, satellite-training and development program. Over 30 weeks of intensive training opportunities are offered in a unique environment and include the Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program, the NRECA/NUTSEA Loss Control Internship and a mix of other focused learning events.
- Perform as program director to upgrade, develop and expand the university based curriculum including implementation and delivery of programs
- Recruit, schedule and coordinate the activities of contract faculty, consultants and staff members who deliver portions of on-site instruction
- Serve as an instructor in areas of management, finance, budgets, loss control and technology as appropriate with background and experience
- Research and recommend innovative ideas for design, implementation and delivery of executive and staff education programs
- Contribute to the development of technical conference sessions for Engineering, Operation, Supply Chain, Accounting/Finance and IT professionals
Job Requirements
