MREA Journey Lineworker Certification

The Minnesota Rural Electric Association administers a journey lineworker exam and certification program exclusively for its electric cooperative members. MREA developed the program to assist our member co-ops in determining the qualifications of lineworkers when there were only limited methods and resources.

Qualified applicants may take the five-part certification exam. Upon passing the exam and completing a few other necessary requirement, MREA issues a certificate that states the applicant has completed the necessary requirements for certification as a journey lineworker.

This certificate will need to be renewed every four years, along with approval from the MREA member cooperative. Please contact Julie Jelen for details.
